Drive safely with the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Attention Assist System

How much time you were driving your car being exhausted and ready to fall asleep any minute? Needless to say how dangerous it could be. E-Class appears to be the first replica to introduce its smart technology for improved driver safety. Engineers from Mercedes discovered about 70 parameters thanks to which it is possible to assess tiredness. In other words, the assist system prevents you from falling asleep while driving.

As for the system itself, it offers a special steering sensor to detect your potential distraction or somnolence. Once the system detects your being sleepy or your distraction, it starts sounding loudly with a coffee cup shown on the display of the dashboard. This intelligent system is capable of identifying the steering wheel input making your driving safer while avoiding potential accidents.

Annually tiredness is reported to be responsible for over 100 000 collisions with 1 500 deaths in United States only and here is Mercedes-Benz standing out in a crowd with its useful attention assist system. Interestingly, Mercedes has been developing the system for more than 10 years and is expected to unveil it at the North American International Auto Show next month.

Moreover, the attention assist system detects acceleration, braking, road conditions and driving time to assess a driver’s steering behavior. The system is said to be respondent to those drivers who like to speak on the phone while steering or those who tend to speak to back seat passengers to keep you alert all the way. This clever dormancy detection system uses its highly sensitive sensors to be able to detect such situations as side winds or bumpy road.
